The February issue of Devolution Z is out, featuring my story Blue Sludge Blues! If you don't already hate port-a-potties, I hope I can nudge you along on your way with this one.

Also, this is what happens when the adults in a house both forget to take down the canopy on the back porch when Snowzilla (not to be confused with the Snowpocalypse) is heading our way.
That's gonna' leave a mark, eh? It kept our porch relatively snow free, though, seeing as how we got over a foot here in the foothills.

Upstreet Literary Magazine is accepting poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. 5000 words or less. Pays between $50 and $250. Deadline March 1.
Body Parts Magazine is accepting horror, erotica, speculative fiction, essays, and art. The current theme is Grave Robbing. Up to 8000 words. Pays $5-$20, depending upon submission type. Deadline March 1.
Beatdom is accepting essays on the topic of politics for their next issue. 2000-5000 words. Pays $50. Deadline March 1.

Wow, lots of good stuff here. I hate port-a-potties but actually did a radio spot for a client. Yup, even port-a-pot companies advertise. I used the song, When The Moon Comes Over the Mountain, by Kate Smith, and the radio copy was a - Dear John letter approach. It won an award along with providing lots of laughs for the radio listeners. Thanks for the links to the submissions. I have two short stories that might work with what they're looking for. No snow here - I'm in the tropics of Mexico. The only white here is the sand on the Caribbean beaches. I know, boo hoo, right?

I love the cover of that horror mag. Great stuff! Sorry about all the snow. I've lived up north my entire life and this is the first year we've hardly had any snow. It's very strange for us. We can't even snowmobile unless we head a few miles toward Canada.

Oh yes, it's never just a lovely storm, right? One big snow leads to mud slides and flooding. But it's pretty when it's first coming out of the sky.
We had three whole days of no school, which is crazy around here!
I'm hoping for some more big snow at some point this month, but we'll see.
I always hope each experience with one is my last. It never is. Or it always is...until the next one.
Everyone seems to be having unusual weather. Given, the snow is normal for us, though maybe not that much. But in between the snows we're hitting 60s and 70s for our temps.
That it does! It made a good kid cooler for me.
My husband has a plan to fix it, so all is not lost.
That canopy is looking completely wrecked at this point. So sad.
