Hello! I ended up not being able to post on Monday, because my interwebs went down during the snowstorm. Not something that happens here often (it's Colorado...we tend to have wiring and such that can withstand the snow), so I'm not sure if it was actually because of the storm or coincidental timing. Either way, I took an extra day off.
The February issue of Devolution Z is out, featuring my story Blue Sludge Blues! If you don't already hate port-a-potties, I hope I can nudge you along on your way with this one.
Available in print ($6.99) and Kindle ($2.99).
Also, this is what happens when the adults in a house both forget to take down the canopy on the back porch when Snowzilla (not to be confused with the Snowpocalypse) is heading our way.
That's gonna' leave a mark, eh? It kept our porch relatively snow free, though, seeing as how we got over a foot here in the foothills.

Wow, lots of good stuff here. I hate port-a-potties but actually did a radio spot for a client. Yup, even port-a-pot companies advertise. I used the song, When The Moon Comes Over the Mountain, by Kate Smith, and the radio copy was a - Dear John letter approach. It won an award along with providing lots of laughs for the radio listeners. Thanks for the links to the submissions. I have two short stories that might work with what they're looking for. No snow here - I'm in the tropics of Mexico. The only white here is the sand on the Caribbean beaches. I know, boo hoo, right?
Congrats on the story! And I already shudder at the thought of port-a-potties. Yuck! Thanks for the links. :)
Congrats! The cover for Devolution Z is awesome!
Port-a-potties, the horror! But congrats on your story for Devolution! Cool!
Yeh on the story! And that is one creepy magazine cover - shudder!
Your lawn furniture looked like ours did last November. The snow that came too early.
Hi Shannon,
Congratulations! And thanks for posting. I started submitting in January and will submit my work every month. You were my inspiration. Thank you.
Shalom,
Patricia
Congrats on your story coming out. We had that big snow last week but rain today that is melting the 3 feet of it so now we have to worry about flooding.
Hi Shannon - that snow looks lethal ... but you got your extra day! That magazine cover is very hard-hitting! Good luck with the story though .. cheers Hilary
Big congrats! Ad so glad that you survived all that snow:)
Great cover, congrats on story. Port-a-potties may I never see one again. Thanks for the submission links I always like checking them out.

I love the cover of that horror mag. Great stuff! Sorry about all the snow. I've lived up north my entire life and this is the first year we've hardly had any snow. It's very strange for us. We can't even snowmobile unless we head a few miles toward Canada.
Congrats on the story! I already hate port-a-potties, so no nudging necessary - figuratively or literally.
We got over a foot here too, but on the plus side, the snow makes a great beer cooler.
Congratulations!
Wow, sorry about the canopy.
That poor innocent canopy. Congrats Shannon and thanks for the links.
You sure got some snow. Inwardly, the canopy is cursing.
I need to stop blogging and start writing, lol. Congrats on the story release. Love the concept idea.
is snowmaggedon next? ha! those storms sure take a toll!
congrats on the publication - and thanks for all the links! just reading them motivates me to try one soon!
thanks more for advertising our blog hop! you're awesome!
Congrats and thanks for the links!!
Great that you won an award for the song! I'm pretty sure there are no fans of port-a-potties, but I could be wrong.
They are evil!
I always excitedly await the cover!
It automatically sounds scary, right from the beginning!
So far, I've liked every cover of the publications I've been in!
This snow was late for us, I hate to say, which means we just blanked on removing the cover, despite having been given ample time. Whoops.
I'm so happy to hear this, Patricia! Keep going! I look forward to hearing your successes.
Oh yes, it's never just a lovely storm, right? One big snow leads to mud slides and flooding. But it's pretty when it's first coming out of the sky.
We had three whole days of no school, which is crazy around here!
I'm hoping for some more big snow at some point this month, but we'll see.
I always hope each experience with one is my last. It never is. Or it always is...until the next one.
Everyone seems to be having unusual weather. Given, the snow is normal for us, though maybe not that much. But in between the snows we're hitting 60s and 70s for our temps.
That it does! It made a good kid cooler for me.
My husband has a plan to fix it, so all is not lost.
That canopy is looking completely wrecked at this point. So sad.
I think it's cursing outwardly, too. Ha!
Yes, write, write, write! But, you know, blog sometimes and say hi. ;)
It needs to be even bigger to be snowmageddon, and I'm hoping for a taste of that!
Thank you!
