Teaser Tuesday: Not the Internet!!

Wow! The A-to-Z Challenge is certainly filling up. It was so exciting signing in yesterday to see so many blogs already participating.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

1. Grab your current read
2. Open to a random page
3. Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
4. BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
5. Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week I'd like to share a bit from The Missing Link, by Bryan Pedas and Brandon Meyers. *Note: These guys have a blog, which you can visit here: A Beer for the Shower.

"Now, Brent Porter was not a brave man. Were this a yeti or a zombie destroying his network, he would have merely hid behind his desk and called security, but this...this was some kind of child-sized mutant, twenty pounds at most. Brent, who had never been in a fight in his life, was pretty sure he could take the little bastard." Kindle, 2% in.

Obviously, I'm not very far in yet, but their humor is a kick and the premise is fascinating. You can get an idea of how you feel about their writing by visiting their blog, linked above.

What are you reading?

May you find your Muse.

LOL--Great excerpt! And what fun! OK, let's see...

And with that, we tramped off the field where the rest of the troops already stood, drinking Starbucks and eating Krispy Kreme donuts. Granted, it wasn't historically accurate, but it sure beat mule meat and hoecake. Kristan Higgins Too Good To Be True pg. 121

I've been reading blogs. Lots of blogs. Blogs and more blogs and wait, what was the question? Pretty consumed with the SCADS of challenge related emails. The next book I plan to read is Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Yes, I know, everyone else already has read it. My excuse is that it's not on my beloved Kindle, it's a real book with pages. I'm so spoiled!

Mary, I don't read humor nearly enough.

Becca, ooo, interesting! Thanks for sharing a teaser.

Christine, this one has made me laugh out loud in public. I love that!

Cherie, be there shortly.

Siv Maria, it's definitely crazy. So glad you're doing the A-to-Z, and great to meet you!

Lady Bluestocking, thanks!

Tina, haha, I know how that goes! Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is good, but takes some getting into, if I remember correctly.

Andrew, ha! Thought you might appreciate it!

Lynda, I'm glad to hear that!
